You have leftovers from the night prior, yet you do not want to heat them in your microwave because you are concerned that much of the nutrients will be "zapped" away. Why? Many believe that microwaves rob food of its nutritional value. This is simply not the case. Research of microwaving food as compared to traditional cooking methods reveal minimal differences. In some cases, microwaving may even help retain more water-soluble nutrients that are generally lost from steaming. So you should feel free to heat up meals in the microwave, rather than struggling to cook a new dish or settling for less healthy fast food.

Lack of protein is a consistent issue for many with Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes. It may lead to low energy levels and an overall poor diet. The key is to replace bad fats (saturated fats and trans fats) with good fats (monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats).
