Amazing news hit the Chronic Kidney Disease community on Wednesday July 7th, 2014! In what could be the most promising announcement of the year to date, Human Trials for the Wearable Artificial Kidney have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). What's more, the device designed by Blood Purification Technologies Inc. has been previously awarded a special "Fast Track to Market" status for the Wearable Artificial Kidney technology.  Are you excited yet? Although the Human Trials  were officially approved in February 2014, the process was slowed due to funding challenges. However, staff was able to exclusively confirm Human Trails are expected to commence in the coming months - possibly as soon as September or October. This is one huge step forward which will help bring this technology to market and make it accessible for all Dialysis patients.
