KidneyBuzz.com Third Year Anniversary And Archie Graham 1956-2016

April 1st, 2016, will mark 3 years since KidneyBuzz.com was officially launched; and this last year has again proven to be record breaking with over 1.2 million individuals visiting the site. KidneyBuzz.com has truly established itself as the go-to resource for the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Community. We have spent the last three years working hard to become the Number One Daily Resource for those with CKD, but even so we realize that we could not have done it without you. So thank you!

Besides the obvious increase in traffic to the site, as mentioned above, this year our email list has literally doubled and our Facebook Likes have ballooned to over 37,600 Friends. We encouraged many of our viewers to take positive actions throughout the year whether it was to support the Artificial Implantable Kidney (Juliana's Hope Campaign raised over $86,000.00) or to petition Congress (The bipartisan Living Donor Protection Act among other CKD-specific legislation is now moving forward) and once again we have done it all without enlarging KidneyBuzz.com's small, intimate staff and operational costs or changing our mission of Teaching those with Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis, Kidney Transplant, Diabetes, and High Blood Pressure how to better manage and improve their lives.

There is one sad note we must reluctantly report and that is we have lost a dear friend to KidneyBuzz.com, Archie Graham, who died on March 16th, 2016. Archie was an excellent friend to KidneyBuzz.com. He has been beating the odds including receiving five (5) kidney transplants since the 1960's. Unfortunately, Mr. Graham passed away and he will be sorely missed.

The title Significant Contributor is reserved for an exclusive group in the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Community and he epitomized it. Archie continually educated himself about all areas of Chronic Kidney Disease, not for himself, but to share this valuable information with others so they too can better manage their lives while living with the disease or at risk of getting it.

In order to maximize his service to the CKD Community, he became a speaker, hired a Public Relations Professional to represent him, so he could offer his speeches at no or minimal charge. He became a CKD subject matter expert, and whether it concerned Medical Research, Community Organizing, Kidney Health, Dialysis, or anything to do with Kidney Transplant; the common refrain became, "Did you ask Archie or did you run that by Archie?"

Archie Graham was truly "one of a kind" and he will be sincerely missed by many of us who knew him and depended on him, but also many who did not know him, and yet were inspired by his story which gave them hope when they were about to give up. Rest in peace, friend. You ran a gallant race to the end. May God bless him and may God bless his family.
